With only one week left until Christmas Day here are a few ideas to make your holiday MORE memorable!
- Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt!
What a FUN idea from Thirty Handmade Days. We all love to drive around and look at Christmas lights but this takes it up a notch and helps to keep the older kids engaged. Set them up with a clipboard and reading light then GO!

3. Hope Notes!
This sweet idea is so very simple – notes of hope for the new year, tucked away into your stockings as you pack them up and then opened the following year when you decorate!

What a fun way to spend an evening, making old fashioned ornaments for your tree! This is a frugal activity the whole family can enjoy.

6. Collect Christmas Books!
It can be costly to buy too many books at once. Instead, make it a tradition to add a new Christmas book every year to your collection. Wrap it up and present to your children on the first of December!

7. The Christmas Pickle!
This may seem silly but kids LOVE silly! Have Santa hide the Christmas Pickle ornament in your tree on Christmas Eve and let the kids race to be the first to find it.

8. Christmas Ornament Album!
I know quite a few families who hold the tradition of purchasing a family ornament each Christmas or ones for each of their children. I love the idea of creating an album to document the ornaments over the years along with why and how they were purchased. Included are FREE printables that will fit into a wallet sized album!

9. Gingerbread Houses!
Gingerbread house making always seems like a good idea – but can be a ton of work and messy with kids. Using graham crackers for your structure is a fabulous idea and an easy start to a house that any kid (or adult) could decorate. She gives step-by-step instructions and even suggests using hot glue! Now why didn’t I ever think of that?!?!

10. Christmas Around the World!
Find a Christmas tradition from another country – choose a new country each year or repeat the ones you love! With the world at our fingertips through the internet it shouldn’t be too hard to learn more about how Christmas is celebrated in another culture. This post from Keeping the Christmas Spirit Alive 365 is a great place to start.
